"Vinay Varanasi is a keen practitioner of Sanatana dharma. Based on his research and fascination, he has been exploring and presenting different indic works, in unique formats. He believes that our itihaasas and puranas have stories and symbolism of great relevance to each of us. He has a special interest in the epics, and the myriad messages present there. He uses the power of storytelling to highlight different aspects of dharma. He does this through individual talks and lectures, as well as collaborations with musicians. Individually, he has given talks on forms of Devi, Shankaracharya, Nada Yoga, Sundara Kanda, and so on. He has collaborated with eminent classical musicians and conceptualized thematic productions, focussing on the intersection of music and spirituality, such as Shiva consciousness, Rama and Devi, Prana and Anjaneya, colours In music, and so forth. The confluence of Sangeeta, sahitya and sanatana dharma are seen in his talks and collaborations. Vinay's fascination for watercolours makes him explore Puranic and musical ideas through paintings. Vinay is an architect by training, and is currently working in the environmental sector.

Very much enjoyed the session and explanation of how the murtis are tied into asana and dhyana practice. Would be great if this class can become a regular Bhakti class. The participants learned a lot from the class and practical information was provided to integrate it into practice. Class would be more enhanced if images were provided in the description of the murtis to give reference and context to the description of the murtis. Wonderful class.

This was a good session, well delivered, but it seemed to presuppose that its audience was Hindu as it explored our relationships with murthi or icons depicting the Hindu deities, with particular relevance to our yoga practice. I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that I could practice yoga whatever my religion. I am actually an atheist but similarly, I was of the impression that this does not exclude me from attaining spiritual enlightenment. So maybe this session did not cater for everyone.
