What you will learn

Yoga is ancient. When you read Yogic literature you are surprised at the wisdom of the Yogis, how they have gone into the details of the human body, mind and how they reached the higher levels of consciousness. Yoga is a science of living and the path is explained very systematically in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali is a milestone in the history of Yoga and is one of the six systems of philosophy. It prescribes adherence to eight “limbs” or steps to quieten one’s mind and merge with the infinite. The Yoga Sutras succinctly outline the art and science of Yoga for Self - Realization.
The Yoga Sutras by Patanjali which talks about the blissful state, freedom from the sufferings through concentration and practice of letting goThe first chapter in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali is composed of 51 sutras, all about the idea of enlightenment. Not only does it help define the goal of enlightenment using yoga, but it also explains what yoga is.

This workshop will be 26 sessions covering 51 Sutras (aphorisms). Each session will cover 1-2 sutras of the first chapter, Samadhi Pada. Chanting of each sutra will be included.

 Anyone who wants to deepen the understanding of yoga philosophy. 

 

Requirements of the workshop
These are theoretical sessions so any comfortable place with a pen and a notepad would be great.

Who should not take this workshop?
Those who are looking at only physical practices because these classes are about the self-inquiry through contemplation on the mind.
