What is Power Yoga?

Power yoga is a high-energy, fitness-based yoga practice that incorporates the athleticism of ashtanga vinyasa yoga with the flexibility for the yoga instructor to teach any poses in any order they wish.


This energetic yoga practice is designed to primarily focus on building strength and flexibility through high impact yoga postures and is great for building endurance and stamina. While power yoga is primarily practiced for better fitness, it is still yoga and there are some things you should know about it before you begin!

  • Beginner yogis
  • Yogis with sensitive muscles or joints
  • People who are regularly sedentary

  • Does not help with joint pain/injuries
  • Does not help you learn yoga basics
  • Does not focus on alignment
